How much does it take for a simple man to break down?
Movement components: dance, singing, sceninc movement and lighting design enhance the dynamics of the story. Together with scenic music and an excellent screenplay (selected texts by G. Bűchner), they create a perfect whole that receives the audience’s full attention.
Epic story about a loving soldier Franz W., born in 2030, who is constantly being pushed by the society to the edge of the human dignity, where his sacrifice and selflessness is rewarded by treason, humiliation and physical destruction. How much can Franz, a simple man, sacrifice for his beloved Mária and her daughter Hanka? Forced to earn money by taking part on doctor’s non-human experiments, fulfilling quests for a volatile lieutenant he endures a military drill and humiliation. Franz’s apocylyptic visions, physical and mental decline are foreshadowing his disruption.
The theme is universal and actual despite the plot is set in the future. Under the poetic subtlety of dance, there is a growing threat – the pressure of society, very complicated relationships, love, tyranny. Right at the beginning of the play, Clowns raise a question: “Are we humans clowns or people?”.
